Parks and Gardens

The Isle of Wight tourism board takes great pride in their public parks. The City of Isle of Wight council maintains more than 160 gardens, open spaces and sports grounds. Take advantage of over 180 hectares of free-to-use, well looked after open spaces during your Isle of Wight holiday.

Family-friendly spaces

Families can enjoy many playgrounds and paddling pools to keep the children entertained, whilst well maintained public sporting facilities are available to help raise the heart rate and work off those holiday indulgences. Ventnor Park offers award-winning landscape gardens, situated in a sunny town with a Mediterranean feel. As you stroll through the well-maintained greenery, you’ll find lush gardens with subtropical plants, a bandstand, a popular putting green, a picturesque stream with stepping stones and a small bird aviary.

Historic spaces

Why not take a trip to Puckpool Park? It was once a Victorian Fortification Battlement that guarded the Solent. Take in sea views and sandy beaches around the historic monument and stop at the Tea Gardens, or enjoy a round of mini golf.

Visit Northwood Park in East Cowes and see the early nineteenth century Grade II Listed Victorian house. The park is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and offers a peaceful rest from high street life and some of the best views on the island.
