Markets

Markets play a fundamental role in life on the Isle of Wight. Most are found in the hustle and bustle of the main towns. They all present a lively and charming atmosphere, offering something different to the high street experience during an Isle of Wight holiday.

You can find a whole assortment of stalls at the markets around the island, each selling unique goods, antiques, collectables and bargains. Many food stalls also pitch up to sell top-quality local produce. Holidaymakers will find that most of the produce they buy from a farmers market is locally grown and organic.

Popular with locals, restaurants and Michelin starred chefs alike, the markets around the island are definitely worth a visit when you visit the Isle of Wight.

Isle of Wight Farmers Markets

Newport hosts the main farmers market on the Isle of Wight. Held in the Town Square every Saturday, discerning shoppers can browse and buy a variety of produce at reasonable prices, often grown or reared by the stallholder. Other locally brewed, pickled, baked, smoked and processed foodstuffs can also be purchased.

Another farmers market takes place every Friday at St Thomas Square in Ryde, and Yarmouth plays host to a great farmers market on the last Thursday of every month.
